Tobacco Info On Hold

Tobacco Info was launched in the spring of 2010 as a project financed in large part by Health Canada. This project ended on March 31, 2012.

We thank Health Canada for these two years of support. During this time, nine issues were published as a service to the national health community.

As you can read in these pages, the federal government cut most of its grants to groups devoted to tobacco control, despite the $3 billion it collects annually in tobacco taxes and the estimated 100 deaths per day caused by tobacco in Canada. This budget cut seriously affects Tobacco Info.

Because we have not been able to fund our magazine otherwise, this will be our last issue until we find an alternative way to operate. In the coming weeks, we suggest that you visit www.tobaccoinfo.ca/next.htm for updates on our situation.
